Crowley Avenue Shelter House

AOJA transformed a dreary flat-roofed 1950s masonry park shelter house, with a 1990s cinder block addition, through the artful addition of a hipped roof covered in individual artificial slates. The new paint scheme lightens and enlivens the building through a multi-color design. The bathrooms inside were brought up to current accessibility standards, with new tile floors, vanities, toilet partitions and fixtures.
